TempStaff is pleased to announce the successful acquisition of EMI Staffing, a well-respected staffing firm based in North Mississippi. This strategic merger marks a significant milestone for TempStaff as it solidifies its presence in the region and strengthens its commitment to providing top-notch staffing solutions.

The acquisition of EMI Staffing allows TempStaff to combine forces with another industry leader, enhancing its ability to deliver exceptional support and opportunities to temporary, temp-to-perm employees, and candidates in North Mississippi. By joining hands, TempStaff and EMI Staffing aim to elevate the quality of services offered and expand their reach to a wider audience.

“We are excited to welcome the talented workforce of EMI Staffing to the TempStaff family,” stated Carolyn Boteler, CEO of TempStaff. “This acquisition represents a fantastic opportunity for us to leverage our combined strengths and resources to better serve our clients and candidates in North Mississippi.”

EMI Staffing was owned by Natalie Ray Bement, President, a second-generation owner. EMI was founded by Brenda and Terry Ray in 1998. Natalie learned about temporary employment growing up around her parents’ staffing agency. After the passing of both her parents, Natalie decided to sell her family company to her friends, who she had spent years learning and growing with in the staffing industry, Carolyn Boteler and daughter Jamie Higdon.

“We are thrilled about the acquisition of EMI Staffing by TempStaff and the promising opportunities it brings for our clients, employees, and community. With a longstanding friendship with Carolyn and Jamie, I have no doubt they will elevate EMI to new levels of success.” – Natalie Bement, former President of EMI Staffing

Carolyn Boteler started the very first year TempStaff was open in 1981 as a receptionist in the office. She has held almost every position on staff during her time as an employee. Carolyn and husband Sidney Paul Boteler purchased the company from Carol and Eddie Frith in 1991.

“We are thrilled about the possibilities that this merger brings and the chance to collaborate with EMI Staffing in North Mississippi,” Jamie Boteler Higdon, President of TempStaff added. “Together, we are committed to delivering unparalleled staffing services, supporting the growth and success of businesses and individuals in the state of Mississippi.”

Much like Natalie, Jamie grew up learning about staffing at a young age. Shortly after receiving a business degree, Jamie came to TempStaff and held many positions like her mother. Jamie now serves as President, overseeing day-to-day operations of the company.

TempStaff, with existing offices in Jackson, Brookhaven, and Canton, is further expanding its footprint through this acquisition, now adding offices in Greenwood, Grenada, and Batesville. This strategic move not only broadens TempStaff’s geographic reach but also positions the agency to provide enhanced staffing solutions across various industries in the state.

TempStaff used Transact Capital Partners LLC for this acquisition. Transact Capital is a full-service mergers and acquisitions advisory firm that specializes in providing advice on the confidential sale and acquisition of privately-owned, mid-tier businesses located throughout the United States.
